1,000 Square Feet of Art for the Holidays...
Local artist Jennifer Tonisson painted an oversized 4 foot by 8 foot banner for the city of Delray Beach. The banner is the first in a series of 33 banners, painted by local artists.
The city of Delray Beach plans to unveil the artwork November 29th during the lighting of the 100 foot tall Christmas tree on Atlantic Avenue. The banners, displayed on the new parking garage/King's on NE2nd Ave from November 29th until New Year’s Eve, will create over 1,000 square feet of art in downtown Delray Beach this holiday season.
The city of Delray Beach challenged local artists to submit creative artwork for the city’s New Year’s Eve celebration portraying the four pillars of First Night: community, celebration, the New Year and the arts.
Thirty three artists ranging from professional local artists to promising young artists were chosen from the submissions to participate in the community art project.
Location:
The artwork will be displayed outside, on the side of the new city building housing King's and new parking in the arts district of Pineapple Grove on NE2nd Ave
